旧向井呉服店支店倉庫
建築年：明治40（1907）年
構造：煉瓦造

向井呉服店支店の倉庫として、市内の中心部に建てられました。小樽では数少ない煉瓦造の倉庫です。内部の木造との組み合わせは旧手宮鉄道施設内の機関車庫３号（国指定重要文化財）に似た構造となっています。明治３７（１９０４）年に稲穂町で大火があったことから、防火のために窓の内側には厚い土塗りの防火戸を備えています。現在は、再活用され歴史や文化を感じさせる建物になっています。

The Former Mukai Kimono Shop Branch Store Warehouse

This building was constructed in the center of the city as a warehouse for Mukai Kimono Shop’s branch store and represents one of the few brick warehouse ever built in Otaru.
The combination of brick with wooden frames found in the interior of the building is similar to that of Roundhouse No.3 (National Important Cultural Property) in the Former Temiya Railway Facility.
Because a large fire swept through Inaho-cho in 1904, the building used thick earthen fire doors on the interior of the windows.
Currently, the building is being used once again, and emanates a rich sense of culture and history.
