旧右近倉庫
建築年：明治27（1894）年
構造：木骨石造

明治20年代としては大規模な倉庫で、小屋組にはクイーンポストトラス（対束小屋組）が用いられています。隣の旧広海倉庫、旧増田倉庫との景観は、かつての倉庫街の面影を残しています。妻壁の「//」は、北前船主・右近権左衛門の店印「一膳箸」で、船の帆柱に掲げられた船旗にも使われました。平成7（1995）年正面の壁が強風で崩れましたが、翌年に現在の姿に修復されています。

The Former Ukon Warehouse

A large-scale warehouse for the late 19th Century, the building’s frame utilizes a queen-post truss. Together with the neighboring former Hiroumi and Masuda Warehouses, it gives a good idea of what the warehouse area looked like in the past. The //(chopsticks) sign or ichizenhashi depicted on the gable wall was the trademark of Gonzaemon Ukon, the owner of a trading vessel called the “Kitamae”, and was also used on the ship flags of his vessels. In 1995 the front wall was blown down by strong winds, but restored to its current condition the following year.
