小樽市指定歴史的建造物

旧塩田別邸

建築年：大正1（1912）年

構造：<母屋>木造　<蔵>木骨石造

この建物は、小樽有数の回漕店を営む塩田安蔵の邸宅でした。

初代安蔵は、明治20年代に堺町と南浜町（現　色内）に店を構え、二代安蔵は、昭和初期に小樽・樺太間に豪華な貨客船を就航させました。

本邸は和風の主屋に石造りの蔵を組み合わせています。

かつて「大玄関」の左側に応接間と茶室、縁側の奥に「大広間」がありました。平成3（1991）年、原形を活かして料亭に再利用されています。

The Former ShiodaVilla

This building served as the villa of Yasuzo Shioda, one of Otaru’s foremost shipping agents. The founder of his own firm, he established two branches in Sakaimachi and Minamihama-cho(present day Ironai) between 1887 and 1896, and by the end of the 1920s, the second-generation owner, whose name was also Yasuzo, established a luxury liner service between Otaru and Karafuto(present day Sakhalin). The villa combines a Japanese-style main building and a stone warehouse. To the left of the grand entrance were a reception room and a tea ceremony room and inward from the veranda was a large banquet hall. In 1991, the building was restored to its original form and started a new life as a Japanese restaurant.
