小樽市指定歴史的建造物

旧百十三銀行小樽支店

建築年：明治41(1908)年

構造：木骨石造

小樽支店の設置は明治26（1893）年で、当初の店舗はこの通りのもう少し南寄りにありますが、業務拡大に応じ建築されたのがこの建物です。

寄棟、瓦屋根で、角地に玄関を設け、上部にギリシャ建築を思わせる飾りを配しているのが特徴です。

設計は池田増治郎で、外壁は石張りとなっていましたが、その後外壁に煉瓦タイルを張り現在の姿となりました。

The Former Otaru Branch of Hyakujusan Bank

Established in 1893, the Otaru branch of Hyakujusan Bank was originally further south along this street, but due to expansion, moved to its current location. Interesting aspects of the building include the hipped tile roof, entrance at the corners and what might be considered Greek decorative construction above. The outer walls were originally sheathed in stone by the architect, Masujiro Ikeda, but later on retiled with brick, giving the building its current appearance.
