小樽市庁舎

建築年：昭和8（1933）年

構造：鉄筋コンクリート

小樽の有力者土肥太吉の10万円寄付を機に新築されました。設計は成田幸一郎以下の市建築課で、土肥秀二もかかわったといわれています。外壁はタイル張りで、正面入口の車寄せ部分とその周辺を茨城産花崗岩積みとした近代建築です。正面上部に彫刻を施した6本の柱を配し、内部中央階段の正面はステンドグラスで彩られ、重厚な市庁舎となっています。

This building was constructed with the help of a 100,000-yen donation from Takichi Dohi, a powerful figure in Otaru society. Designed by Koichiro Narita and the city department of construction, Shuji Dohi is also said to have been involved in the project. The outer walls of  this modern building are tiled, with granite from Ibaraki prefecture around the driveway apron. Six pillars with relief sculptures are arranged on the upper part of the facade, while indoors the central stairway features stained glass on the forward wall, giving a very solid feeling to this public building.
