旧日本郵船(株)小樽支店残荷倉庫

建築年：明治39（1906）年

構造：石造

旧日本郵船（株）小樽支店（国指定重要文化財）と同時にこの残荷倉庫も建設されました。工部大学校第一期卒業の佐立七次郎の設計による、一連の建築として貴重なものです。マンサード屋根の小屋組、壁の石積みの仕様などは、支店社屋と共通しています。平成14年に屋根全部と正面外壁部分が改修され、周囲の景観に調和させています。

The Former Nihon Yusen Co.,Branch Cargo Storage Warehouse

This cargo storage warehouse was built at the same time as the former Otaru Branch Office of Nihon Yusen(now designated as a nationally important cultural asset). Designed by Shichijiro Stachi, one of the first graduates of what would eventually become the Engineering Department of University of Tokyo, the building is valuable as an example of construction methods of the period. In common with the branch office building are the mansard roof and stone walls. The entire roof and front walls underwent a complete overhaul in 2002,harmonizing the surrounding landscape.
