旧猪俣邸

建築年：明治33（1900）年

構造：木造

この建物は、鰊漁を中心に財を成した猪俣安之丞の邸宅として、明治33（1900）年に余市町に建てられました。現在地には昭和13（1938）年、東小樽の宅地計画の一環として移築されました。この母屋は、猪俣家専用の住宅であり、多くの大規模な鰊漁家が親方の住居と漁夫の寝床を合わせている点で異なります。また、これほど大きな親方の住宅は道内に例をみません。母屋の中央にある望楼(ぼうろう)からは沖合の漁を観察していたと思われます。玄関の右手には6室の座敷が並び、大きな神棚や床の間を備えています。

The Former Inomata Residence

Constructed in Yoichi Town in 1900, this mansion was the former residence of Yasunojo Inomata who built his fortune around the herring trade. The building was relocated in 1938 as part of the Higashi Otaru Housing Development Plan. The main building served as the residence of the Inomata Family, which deffers from the fact that other large fisherman residences at the time contained separate accommodations for the family and for the crew. This was also the largest such residence of its kind in all of Hokkaido. The watchtower situated in the middle of the fleet in the bay . To the right of the foyer are six connected parlors with a large household shrine and alcove.
