小樽市指定歴史的建造物

旧木村倉庫

建築年：明治24（1891）年

構造：木骨石造

小樽港の繁栄を示す大規模な石造倉庫で、当初は鰊漁場の中継倉庫でした。内部は中央廊下をはさんで二つの倉庫に分けられ、その廊下には港から引き込まれたトロッコのレールが今も残されています。昭和58年、内部空間を生かした硝子店舗に再利用され、ほかの石造倉庫の転用を促進させました。

The Former Kimura Warehouse

Structure:Stone on Wooden Framing

Originally a transit warehouse for the area’s herring fisheries, this massive stone warehouse reflects the prosperity of the Port of Otaru. Inside, a corridor divides the building into two separate areas and handcart rails that once lead to the port remain in the passage to this day. Taking advantage of the large interior spaces, the building was reformed in 1983 by a glass outlet, which in turn spurred the conversion of other stone warehouses.
