旧北海道庁土木部小樽築港事務所見張所

建築年：昭和10（1935）年

構造：木造

北海道経済を先導してきた小樽港の発展とともに歩んできた事務所です。初代小樽築港事務所長の廣井勇博士は、小樽築港工事でコンクリートの施工技術の発展に寄与する研究と開発を行い、今日の輝かしい港湾技術の基礎を築きました。小規模ですが、外壁は2種類の板壁を使い分け、方形屋根に小さい屋根をのせるなど、工夫を凝らしています。小樽港縦貫線の道路工事に伴い、平成13年に東寄り約60ｍの位置から現在地へ曳家されています。

The Former Watch House of the Hokkaido Dept. of Civil Engineering’s Otaru Harbor Construction Office

This office oversaw the development of the Port of Otaru, one of the projects that helped to guide the economy of Hokkaido. Chief of the port construction office during its first stage. Dr.Isami Hiroi carried out research that contributed to the development of concrete construction techniques for use in the building of the port. Still valid today, his findings serve as the basis of superior modern harbor construction technology. Although this building is quite small, its exterior design has been devised to use two separate types of wall and features a small, a small, separate square roof on top of the main roof. In order to accommodate road construction, the building was moved approximately 60meters to the east to its present location in 2001.
