旧篠田倉庫

建築年：大正14（1925）年

構造：木骨煉瓦造

本倉庫は小樽運河の海側に建ち、連続した倉庫群を形成する主要な建造物です。煉瓦の壁は、周辺の石やコンクリート壁に対して景観のポイントになっています。構造は、内部の柱や梁を木で組み立て、外壁に煉瓦を積み立てる「木骨煉瓦造」で、小樽の同規模の倉庫では数少ない事例です。運河沿いの壁は、平成8年の改修工事で新しい煉瓦に取り替えられていますが、古い色合いになるよう工夫が施されています。

The Formar Shinoda Warehouse

Structure:Brick on Wooden Framing

This building situated on the seaward side of the Otaru Canal is the principle structure of the neighboring group of warehouses, with its brick walls standing out among the surrounding stone and concrete. Its structure is comprised of wooden beams and pillars internally and brick externally – a rarity among comparatively sized warehouses in Otaru. Construction on the canal side wall was carried out in 1996 with a subtle  patina added to the new brickwork in order to reflect the age of the building.
